What I’m Doing to Lose Weight and Get into Shape This Year
I hate to exercise. I really, really do. I’ll try to come up with any reason not to. Think I have a cold coming on? Nope, better not exercise. The living room is a mess, and that’s where I do my workouts? Nope, can’t exercise. I didn’t get enough sleep last night? Nope, better not exercise.
It’s just not fun. I don’t enjoy doing it. I know I’m not alone here.
But…as I’ve started getting older, I’ve noticed that even while eating the same amount of food, I started gaining a little bit of weight. And I was NOT happy about it. So I started to look around for what I could (easily) do to fix that.
And that’s when I came across BeachBody on Demand.
I joined it, because you really can’t beat $99 for an entire year of dozens and dozens of workouts. I hate doing the same thing over and over again. I get bored, and that’s one of the reasons I stop. But with all of these choices, I have no excuse.
What I like even more, is that most of the workouts are pretty short…a half of an hour or less. (Although if you’re looking for something longer, you can easily find it. I just don’t want to!)
Usually, when I don’t want to take the time to search for something new, I’ll do one of these workouts:
- Focus T-25 (by Shaun T)
- 22 Minute Hard Corps (by Tony Horton)
- Turbo Fire (by Chalene Johnson)
- 21 Day Fix (by Autumn Calabrese)
- P90X3 – MMX (by Tony Horton) – I love all of the kicking and punching, so while I usually skip the rest of the workouts in P90X3, I like doing this one!
…and then usually after doing a few of these, I’ll want to do something else, so I try something that I haven’t done before…and then a few days later I go back to these workouts again.
I like that they aren’t too hard to do. By the time I’m getting tired of working out, they’re over, and I can get on with the rest of my day.
What’s nice too is that you can do them wherever you want. I use my ROKU so that I can do them using my TV. If you want to use your computer you can, or any mobile device. So in theory, you can even work out while on vacation! (There is no way I’m doing this though. But I guess it’s nice to know that I could if I wanted to.)
Towards the end of the year, I got lazy…I stopped working out as much as I should have. So now that it’s a new year again, I’m back to trying to do this at least 3 times a week. It really doesn’t take much time, and I really feel so much better for the rest of the day after exercising.
If you’ve been thinking of doing something to get into shape and lose a little bit of weight, I suggest you try the free 2-week trial. That way you’ll know for sure if you’ll work out or not. Personally, I like the $99 option for the entire year. Many people pay that (or more) per month to work out…so I’m really happy paying just $99 for an entire year.
What’s also really cool is that they are always adding new workout programs in. In fact, they just announced that on April 1st, they’ll be adding Shaun T’s newest to BeachBody on Demand. It’s called Transform :20. I am REALLY excited for this one.
Why? Because each workout is only 20 minutes long. I was happy with his 25 minute workouts…and then Tony Horton’s 22 minute workouts. So a 20 minute workout? Bring it on! I know I’ll be trying that out this week (they offer a sample workout to try for BeachBody on Demand users…so I know I’ll be doing that soon, and then once April comes, I’ll be able to do the rest of them.)
But if you don’t want to invest a lot of time or money into losing weight or getting healthier, but know it’s something you need to do…I really think BeachBody on Demand makes it a lot easier, and a lot less painful!
Enjoy,
