Just got a Great Deal on an Amazon Kindle Fire 7″ – Go Prime Day!
I’m really excited. Technically, Prime Day hasn’t started yet (It starts at 3PM EST today, and goes for 36 hours), but I’ve already gotten an amazing deal.
5 years ago, almost exactly, I purchased a refurbished Amazon Kindle 7″. I think it was $99, but because I can’t find the actual purchase in my email (only the case), I am not 100% sure of the price. Either way, I was really excited because I wanted to use it as an e-book reader mostly, and also take it on vacations so that I’d have a lot to read on vacation plus have a tablet to use.
Fast forward 5 years, and the Kindle 7″ is still working great. My problem? The software isn’t being updated anymore for a Kindle this old. So for the software I use for getting library books, I can’t do all of the things I want because I can’t download the latest version.
So since Prime day was coming up, and I had heard that instead of $49.99, the Kindle Fire 7″ would most likely be $29.99 (and one website even suggested $24.99), I decided I’d wait until then and get it. I was happy with those prices.
So imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning and saw that if you have an American Express card that has rewards points, you can get it for $10!!!
Needless to say, I purchased it for the $10, and am very excited that it will be here on Wednesday.
Talk about a great deal. I was happy at $30, and still think that is a great deal…but $10 is even better!
I’ve already been asked…why a Kindle Fire if you’re mostly going to use it for reading ebooks?
That’s easy. First of all, I want to be able to use books from the library, which use their own app. Also, I like the idea that I can run other apps on it, so while I’m on vacation I can use it for other things if I want to…and for that price (whether it’s $10 or $30)…how could you not choose the Kindle Fire 7″? I’m happy reading on it, I’ve been doing it for 5 years and have always thought it was great.
I just wanted to share in case you’re looking for a great deal on a tabled or something you can read ebooks on today!!
