Which Cashmere Sweater Should I Buy? (Do I go for the Best Price on Cashmere? Or the Best Quality Cashmere?)
Cashmere. It’s so soft, and feels so good.
Why isn’t everyone’s closet full of it? That’s easy. It’s expensive!
This is the time of the year that many stores have lots of cashmere sweaters in stock, and a lot of them even have sales, so they aren’t quite as crazy to buy. You’ll find a lot of really pretty colors, in a lot of different styles.
So if you’re looking to buy yourself a nice cashmere sweater, or want to buy one as a gift, where do you even begin? There are so many different stores selling them, and they are at all different price points!
The most important thing is the quality of the Cashmere. That’s why I’ve been looking at the reviews. It seems the biggest thing to look out for is pilling, or holes. If the Cashmere isn’t as good, after a few wearings you’ll start to see some pilling. While looking at reviews, the Macy’s Cashmere is the one that I saw with the most complaints about that. Not so coincidentally, it’s also the least expensive while on sale. I’ve also seen a few complaints (on multiple brands) about holes forming, but I wonder since they’re so few and far between that it’s just people not realizing that they need to be very careful with these sweaters, as they’re more delicate than other clothes.
From all of the research I did, it seems that it comes down to personal preference. Feel the Cashmere, and see which feels best to you. Some people are looking for a lighter sweater, because they don’t live in a very cold climate. Others want a heavier Cashmere, again, because of the weather.
I’ve seen such different styles at different stores, so that matters a lot too. I personally like longer shirts, while I know others that like theirs to come down to their hip and that’s it. Some come only in crewneck, while others are available in v-neck, turtleneck, and even cardigans.
They all have such beautiful colors too. So if you’re looking for a specific color, one brand might have what you want, while another might not.
One last thing to consider…some of them say dry clean only, while others say that you can wash them in your washing machine, and lay them out to dry. That might be important to you. I know that I don’t take any of my other clothes to be dry cleaned, so I wouldn’t end up dry cleaning my Cashmere sweater…I’d either use my washing machine or hand wash it.
You really can’t go wrong with Cashmere. It’s so pretty, and so soft…you’ll want to wear it all winter long!
After doing my research, I’ve found that these are the best reviewed brands of Cashmere available, and all at reasonable prices. Now, the last column will probably change on a daily basis, so don’t go by that. Just use that as a guide to see about how much you’ll see it goes down to. I’m assuming after the holidays, they will go down more as well.
