Time to Get Another Waffle Maker. Is the Presto Ceramic Flip Side Still the Best?
Back in April, my waffle iron started to act “strange”. And when I say strange, I mean that sometimes it would cook normally, and others it just wouldn’t. It was on its last legs, and that was obvious. I couldn’t be upset though, because I bought it back in June of 2016. It lasted for almost 5 years, and in all of that time, it worked well and gave our family great tasting waffles.
So when it was time to get a new waffle maker, I pretty much knew what I was going to do…just order another of the same Presto Ceramic FlipSide Belgian Waffle Maker as I did before.
But I did want to see if there was anything else out there, so I did my due diligence, and saw that for the price I wanted to spend, this was still the best waffle maker.
In fact, it might even be better now! Back when I wrote my original post about which two waffle makers I was trying to decide between, Which Waffle Maker to Buy – One with Teflon or Duraceramic, I was (obviously) deciding between one with teflon or duraceramic.
But now things were even easier to decide. Like I said above, not only was the Presto Belgian waffle maker still the best out of all of the ones that I had been looking at, but it’s even better than it was before. They used to call it “duraceramic”, and now it’s just ceramic. That means now we know exactly what the material is, instead of “well, mostly” knowing.
And here’s the good news:
We know for sure that ceramic has a non-stick coating and is very easy to clean. It’s non-toxic and is both PTFE free and PFOA free.
So I have no issues at all cooking with it, and was even happier to buy it this time.
The waffle maker looks almost exactly the same, except before it was black on the inside, and now it’s silver.
At the time of this post, there are over 20,000 reviews, and it gets 4.7 stars out of 5 on Amazon.
Since I got the new one, I’ve made waffles at least 5 times if not more, and it works perfectly. The waffles come out very well, and we’re very happy with them. It’s very easy to clean as well, so I’m completely happy with the purchase.
If you must know, the only issue we have is deciding if we want chocolate chip waffles, blueberry waffles, or both!
If you’re looking for a reasonably priced Belgian waffle maker, I’d strongly suggest the Presto FlipSide Belgian Waffle Maker. I’ve been using them now for over 5 years, and am still very happy each time I make a waffle!
