How to Start Your Own Website
If you’re reading this, you’ve probably thought about having your own website. Maybe you want to share some information you have with the world, maybe you want to make money, or maybe you have another reason for starting one.

You need 2 things in order to have your own website. Hosting, and a domain name. The domain name is the URL that people will type in when they want to go to your website. Mine is CoolHappyLife.com, but it can be absolutely anything (that isn’t already taken of course.) The other thing you need is hosting. Basically, it’s a place for all of your files. Once you have both, you can have your own website or blog.
As far as the costs go…it really isn’t expensive. Right now, you can get hosting at Bluehost (that’s where this blog is hosted) for just $3.95 per month. You even get to choose a domain name for free for your first year, if you don’t already have one.
That’s the only cost in order to start your website! Not bad, right?
What makes even better is once you have your hosting and domain, all you need to do is install WordPress. Now that might sound daunting, but you can install WordPress (that’s what this website and many others are running) with just 1-click. In fact, you can have your website up in less than 10 minutes. (That’s a step by step post that shows you exactly what to do to get everything up and running in under 10 minutes.)
I don’t even think you’d need the step by step instructions, because as you go through buying the hosting it’ll be clear…but it’s there if you need it.
If you do run into any problems at any point, they have 24/7 support, so you’ll always have someone there to answer any questions you have.
Once you have your blog, you can spend time making it look pretty…finding a nice theme, graphics, etc… but it’s up, and it’s live.
You’ll be able to start posting right away! You’ll be shocked at how easy it is, and wish you got your website sooner!
