Beautiful Blue Opal Necklace! (I Love it!)
I had been looking at this necklace online for two years. I normally don’t like to buy jewelry online because you can’t really tell what it will look like in person.
But every time I was on Kohl’s website and was looking at jewelry, I’d notice this necklace and think about it. It was so pretty, and at the time every single review was glowing.
So the week of Thanksgiving, I was at my local Kohl’s because I wanted to try on a few sweaters before I ordered them online on Black Friday. I was alone, which doesn’t happen too often when I go shopping, so after I tried the sweaters on, I walked past the jewelry section.
I didn’t see the necklace…BUT I saw a pair of earrings that were matching. It was beautiful. The blue opal was so full of fire. Yes, I know that it’s not a real opal, but it was gorgeous. As soon as I saw the earrings, I knew that I HAD to have the necklace…even though I still wasn’t 100% sure about the size. The earrings were perfect size, but would the pendant be too big? Or just right?
So, Black Friday came, and I purchased one of the sweaters I had tried on, 2 other shirts that I found while in the store that looked great when I tried them on, and the necklace. It was on sale for $25 (originally $100), and with an additional 15% off, I ended up getting it for $21.25. I was very happy with that price…and now all I had to do was wait.
I didn’t have to wait long. Just two days later, it showed up at my doorstep. And it was gorgeous! I loved it. I still love it. I put it on right then and there, and have been wearing it a lot since. Right now because there are two coupon codes (JEWELRY20 for 20% off, and HOLIDAY25 for 25% off), the necklace comes down to just $15. Which to me is just crazy. It could pass for a lot more expensive.
What I think is really funny, is that 2 days ago a new review popped up. Someone gave it 1 star, and said that it looked like a “gumball machine” necklace. I laughed, because to me that couldn’t be further from the truth. I have purchased some necklaces in the $10 – $30 range, that while I liked them, you could tell that they were not expensive. This necklace on the other hand, if someone had gotten it for me as a gift, I would have thought it cost a lot more and they bought it at a “real” jewelry store.
I just wanted to share what I thought about the necklace, so you could make your own decision if you were on the fence about buying it. Now I can’t believe I waited two whole years! It’s just so beautiful, and I am getting a lot of enjoyment out of wearing it…plus a lot of compliments!
