30 Day Mindfulness Challenge Day 19

It’s been interesting coming up with things to do in a mindful way for my 30 Day Mindfulness Challenge.

The first 4 were pretty easy. Eating, showing, driving, and going for walks are all things that we do on autopilot, and our minds are usually elsewhere. Now it’s a bit more difficult to come up with things to do mindfully.

Last night as I was brushing my teeth, it came to me. That’s another thing we do without really paying attention to it. Usually we’re thinking about other things while brushing. So this morning, while I brushed my teeth, I tried to pay attention to what I was doing. How my teeth felt against the toothbrush and toothpaste. How the vibration (I use a Sonicare toothbrush) felt in my mouth. How the cold water felt as I rinsed, etc…

I thought it was pretty good. Since you only spend a few minutes brushing, it isn’t that hard to keep mindful while doing it. If you’re looking to try something short, this is a great one to try!
