Start a Gratitude Journal (31 Days to a Happier You: Day 1)

Start a Gratitude Journal

Here’s one easy way to be happier. Start a gratitude journal.

You don’t even need to put too much into it. Every night (or morning) list 3-5 things that you’re grateful for. It can be about something good that happened that day, or someone special in your life, or anything that makes you happy. Just spend a minute or two thinking about the good things in your life.

This might sound silly and insignificant, but it will help you be happier, just by spending a few minutes a day thinking about the things that you’re grateful for in life and writing them down. You can go into as much detail (or as little) as you want.

While you can do this in your head, from everything I’ve read, it helps more if you write it down. So spend the extra minute and write them down in a journal. It’ll be worth the extra effort!  As a bonus, when you’re sad in the future, you can go through the journal and see the things you’ve been grateful for in the past!

Here are a few side benefits to using a gratitude journal: Not only will it help you be happier, it can help you lower your stress levels, sleep better, and even increase your productivity and creativity! Not too bad for just writing down a few things that you’re grateful for each day, is it?

Enjoy,
